I began working with stained glass in 1992, but soon transitioned to kiln-formed glass. At the time, I was living in Northern Virginia and had the opportunity to take classes at the Corning Glass Studio in New York and the Washington Glass School in Washington, DC, as well as many private studios. I also spent two weeks studying glass casting at the Pilchuck Glass School in 2002.

In 2010, my husband and I relocated to Valdez, NM, which is in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains very close to Taos. We built a straw bale house, which we share with our cat Pepper, and a 900 square foot studio where I pursue my art full-time. In 2011, I traveled to British Columbia, Canada twice to study glass powder techniques with one of the pioneers in the field. The knowledge I gained has taken my work in a new direction.

My inspiration comes from the land around me and the glass itself. The natural features I observe around me are the inspiration for my abstract works. Coupled with that is my curiosity about the limitless possibilities of glass. I work primarily with glass powders and am always trying to push the boundaries to discover new forms of expression using this versatile form of glass.
